Orange Star's Bio:
Orange Star began her life in the Food World at the tender age of 14, picking blueberries, mostly to avoid a surly stepfather. Then the natural inclination toward the kitchen led a young Ms. Star to search out cookbooks, ethnic restaurants and farmers markets, trying to soak up anything culinary she could. A chance encounter with a Gyro sandwich was a true ephiphany; a realization that divinity was achievable through eating something. She spent some time at an uncle's bed and breakfast/4 star restaurant in the middle of nowhere, starting down a path to her newfound passion. All-you-can-eat Barbacue Feed, Seared Muscovy Duck Breast with Huckleberry Coulis and 64 ounce cuts of the tenderest Prime Rib were now some of her new favorite things. She worked at the inn's salad station, "manned" the grill, sous-chefed and even planned a special or two. Those years changed Orange's life forever. She set off on her own, with Julia Child under one arm and M.F.K. Fisher under the other. She flitted between short order cooking on the Melrose Strip in Hollywood to bagel baking at an Orthodox bakery, finally settling in as a research cook for Penguin Foods in Juno, Alaska. But home always calls, and Ms. Star just couldn't stay away. So she decided to get the whole family involved and created this, The Orange Star Dinner Show. She so hopes you enjoy!
